Chant for Hope
opening of the Dhaka Art Summit on February 3, 2023
Chant for Hope by Brussels-based artist Miet Warlop premiered at the Dhaka Art Summit. Chant for Hope (2023) is a participatory sculpture in which a group of performers create a variety of words by filling molds on the floor with plaster, inspired by the history of language and its evolution in Bangladesh. The sculptures evolve as the audience sings, dances, and moves around them to reveal new meanings. Chant for Hope shows through a dancing sculpture a energetic way to start a collective movement.
