The Big Bad Cold

(tableaux vivant, 5-7Men and Stone/wax/plaster Handkerchiefs)

A still-life, a group scene, where the nature of collective embarrassment (I know that you know what I know) is explored through constrained micro-movements. Seven men, a frozen group of seven men, a frozen group of white-straight-male privilege, one of the men holds a 10kg bronze handkerchief, he does not enact, he solely manifests the physical effort it takes to hold the weight and therefore encapsulates those instances when we mask our internal embarrassment by transferring the cause to the external factors such as stress, exhaustion and pain.
